I called bullshit on cheap tickets Ern because they started off suggesting tickets would be cheaper then more recently said prices would be COMPARABLE.
COMPARABLE means similar, which would suggest not much change.
Then this has happened, with that word COMPARABLE being redefined by them as not really comparable at all.
I've always said I appreciate there will be cheaper "new" bands at the OS as the views are much much worse so they had to.
I'm suspicious of this massive discount to bands 3 and 4 but nothing for 1 and 2 due to the above.

You know what I reckon, it's just occurred to me looking at the prices.
For a seat COMPARABLE to where you are now, I reckon you have to go up a price band.
That means for those for whom view is important, you'll not benefit from as big a discount. This is why you have to go to a reservations centre and be upsold by a salesman.
"These band 4 seats are shit compared to UP"
"Yeah, but the band 3 seats look a lot better"
"Well I would prefer to sit there but it's £599"
"That's still £75 cheaper than at Upton Park"
"Ok I'll upgrade"

Well, so far, we've pretty much sold out.....
But, anyway, I can't understand your view. You hate the owners, that saved us from receivership. Possibly you wanted the QPR-model? Were you happy with T.Brown? Are you happy for us to stay at UP? If so, why moan about our current predicament? Do you not agree that we've come on in the last 5 years?

THEY said they saved us from receivership.
The debt that they supposedly saved us from then didn't get paid off for about 4 years, there's still a train of thought suggesting it isn't paid off yet, so yeah I guess we were proper close.
Anyway, this isn't about me or the owners, it's about ticket prices for the OS.
Well done to them for slashing disabled prices after their embarrassing rip off of them a couple of seasons back.

You'll only try and deflect them, and pick holes in them and turn them around.

Johnson is right on this. People in Bands 3/4 will be thinking they have had a touch, until they see the seat location and will possibly try to shift up a band.
Money isn't the issue for me personally, but the discount offtered in Bands 1/2 are clearly that amount for a reason, primarily the view. It's quite clear the club are targeting the families and younger fans judging by the variation of the discounts.
It's good, but it could and should have been better. Do I feel short changed? Yes.

Well my price is superb, but I wonder if the view is comparable.. Gone same way as Manchester City for the lower pricing too..

Brilliant news all round, I'm very surprised by this.
Of course we still have to see exactly where these bands are but the club weren't bullshitting about cheaper prices. Well done to all involved.

I am completely unsurprised about it, how else was the club going to encourage 19,000 more fans, in seats that plenty on here say are shit? I also always felt family groups would be the target, especially if the prices for kids was almost nominal.
